Thus one should not multiply the 1.551.321 figure by three. However, if one does, the figure one gets is 4,653,963 or approximately 4.65 million - the figure you correctly cite as being currently listed on Yahoo: biz.yahoo.com Note that the Yahoo figure, is not only incorrect (in my opinion) but is also out of date (it it indeed is derived from the March short interest number). The April short interest is now available on the NASDAQ Trader site. It is 1,576,483 shares - see nasdaqtrader.com Arcane, do you think that GENI is lying in the PR, then?... Or just trying to mislead investors by quoting another potentially inaccurate source?.... The company thinks that the short position is in the 4.5 million range and they ought to know because they receive the DTC sheets weekly... biz.yahoo.com "In our case, according to reports published by Bloomberg L.P., out of 21 million GENI shares outstanding, there was a total short position of approximately 4.6 million shares." JMHO, F. Goelo + + + I do not think that GENI was lying, but I do believe they may have relied on an incorrect figure "published by Bloomberg L.P." which may have made the same mistake that I believe Yahoo made (specifically, adjusting the GENI short interest for a stock split when the original was already split adjusted). In any event, the April short interest has been published by NASD and it (1,551,321 shares) is nowhere near 4.6 million shares.
