As a kid, I once attended a banquet in honour of girl guides and boy scouts. The local police department sent about a dozen uniformed cops as a goodwill gesture. Someone found a misplaced scout hat and turned it in to one of the cops. The whole mess of them scrambled to determine who had lost their hat. I asked my Father why they didn't look inside, because every kid has their name written on a label sewn into the lining for just that purpose. I wish I could remember his answer. Cheers, PW.
