What Colin did say at the Convention, was that Republicans should not oppose affirmative action because it doesn't cost much and gives some kids a much-needed break (or something to that effect). That's fine, if that's his opinion, and, in dollar terms, it certainly doesn't cost that much. But I found it disturbing that perhaps he is not familiar with the very eloquent arguments against it by the likes of Walt Williams and Thomas Sowell, which are concerned with the personal costs to the victims that AA claims to be helping. I would certainly vote for them in any race before I'd vote for Colin, who should at least do his homework before commenting on issues.
