I got stopped in the 70s by a cop in a small town. He asked if I knew there was a 55 national speed limit to which I said yes. Then he asked why I was doing 65, pulling a boat in a 35 zone. I told him it was a tough day at the lake and I was tired. He just said slow down the next time, no ticket.

Sounds like you met a reasonable one. I'm sure they're out there.

The seat belts on my car come out of the seat, unlike most cars where the belts attach near the roof. When cops set up their seat belt inspections, my seat belts are hard to see. If I'm wearing dark clothes, they're almost invisible. They stop me almost every time.

They seem delighted with themselves. They think that they've made a catch. Trouble is, when they get a close look, they see they've made a mistake. So far, I've been lucky. I expect that some day one of these idiots will become annoyed at being fooled and decide to charge me anyway. In a his word against mine situation, I'm sure to lose.

Anyway, I'm forced to stop when most people get waved through. It's gets bit tedious when it happens every second day, like this week.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. Earlier this week, the cops were checking seat belts as cars were entering the expressway. Cars were backed up a half mile or more. I wondered what was causing the hold-up and since I was stopped, I grabbed my binoculars. I found myself staring back at a cop with binoculars who was first staring at me. I thought this amusing.
