Don't you think that is one of the good things about Realtor.com? It helps buyers and sellers weed out the agents they don't want to work with.

I agree some agents aren't worth working with, if their listings appear on the Internet, but they don't commit to pay the extra dollars to get their photos, names and contact numbers attached to the listings.

Since I'm now only in the referral business, I've tried to use Realtor.com to contact some really good agents with a referral for their area. If I don't hear back from them in a reasonable period of time, I figure my referral client won't like working with them either.

I found my buyers and sellers who used Realtor.com were very computer-savvy and email-oriented, and if they couldn't get a quick response from me, they would get irritated. Perhaps the long nights I spent emailing back and forth to discuss photos they were seeing on the Internet or to discuss details of a transaction were one reason I finally took a break from actively working with buyers and sellers.

Computerization makes things very quick and easy in some ways, but more complicated and time-consuming in others. That's why the top agents in our area now have entire staffs of assistants to keep up with email inquiries, etc.
