Utility earnings are like a poker game now - beat estimates and raise going forward.

UNS is the latest winner - with 2001 earnings raised to $2.50 this is a $30 stock, boys and girls.

Here are the factors guiding the industry now:

Current and 2001 forward power prices remain above levels of last year and have the potential to push earnings well above the $2.50 per share estimate. However, UniSource Energy's ability to reach or exceed the $2.50 per share could be impacted by numerous factors including:

The availability of TEP's generation resources;
The amount of wholesale energy purchased to serve retail customers. TEP is generally a net seller of wholesale energy, however, at times it needs to purchase wholesale energy to serve its retail customers and meet retail demand;
Retail customer demand and growth;
The level and volatility of wholesale power prices;
The price level and availability of natural gas; and
The amount of research and development expenses incurred by Millennium's technology investments.
