I see USC rolled out the Red Carpet for Parent's Day. They must have bribed all of the winos to leave town. Are you sure that the Radisson wasn't a Hollywood mock-up cleverly designed to hide the massive run-down housing and empty storefronts (some would say "slum," but I won't) surrounding the campus?

I think Wal-Mart prices are pretty much the same everywhere (unless they are trying to drive a small guy out of business in a remote rural location), so you need not worry. Some department stores do stock different merchandise for upscale locations, but south central Los Angeles does not qualify as one.

Ah, how times change.

When I went to college I had a clothes box. I would box up my clothes and mail it home every week. And the clean clothes would arrive back at college four days later.

What parent would do that for their kids any more??

We actually have stores here in SoCal. Lots of stores. Ammo can shop at Target and Walmart or at Nieman Marcus and Saks. We have it all.
