I don't happen to oppose the two policies of the US government that you cited. However, with a bit of thought I'm sure you could find some that I do.

It's easy to say that the common German should have stopped the concentration camps. But it's not so easy, when your government is commmitting wrongs, to stand up and do something about them.
This, actually, is precisely what I said to E in another post. Opposing your gov't can be extremely hazardous to your longevity. It's not usually too bad in this country- -the right to oppose gov't policies is accepted in most circumstances- -but in Nazi Germany it was worth your life.

But had MT promoted birth control in India, she would NOT have been opposing gov't policy, so I'm afraid that excuse is not open to her.

Yes I am acting to prevent those things. I have written to all my representatives about both these things- as I stated on the ELian thread (about Cuba). I am totally against both the embargo of Iraq and the terrible bombing in the no fly zone and our treatment of Cuba (I am also against interfering in the Balkans).

I suspect you assumed I was doing nothing. And you seem to have assumed a royal "we", as well.

"Or maybe we're wrong. "
