Yes, the boxes are wonderful, like morphed-into-cubes cows.

They assured me that I could do it myself. "If you could drive here, you can set this computer up."

When I got the cable connection, Optonline, they said if I could tie my shoes, I could set it up myself. I wasted two days trying, and they finally sent some somebody who established that there was something wrong with the line outside.

I bought a 3 1/2 hr. course, too.

And it registered on me that I had my stuff from this computer backed up on zips, and there's no zip drive in my new computer. Instead there's a DVD drive. Which I don't even want. So today I threw a hundred dollars at an external zip drive. It was that or download everything again onto ten million floppies.

My computer comes with Microsoft Works Suite 2001 iincluding MS Word and Encarta. My brother in law says I should get rid of it and install MS Office 2000 Professional, which I have already, because it's better. But the tech support is only for the things that came with the system. So I'm sort of afraid to switch. What do you think?
