Peter, enlighten me as to where and when you think "the vested interest" will disappear?

This is a serious, not facetious, question.

The internet (and thus an entity such as HOMS) assumed a large role in real estate only a few years ago, and some of us were dragged kicking and screaming into it...but once we invested our money in computers and saw what this could accomplish, we were all for it.

Now there are Palm Pilots, online video home tours and much other technology to facilitate the business and make things easier for agents and their clients.

Who's to say there won't be a new wave of technology down the road which will again change the nature of the business and maybe even render HOMS obsolete....and NAR will have to find something else to put its money into....but this also can be said of any technology-based company listed on the stock exchanges.

HOMS is a great trading stock....enjoy its ups and downs and make money, long or short. Maybe this discussion is irrelevant because of just that...the stock is volatile and I don't believe anyone on this thread considers himself a long-term holder of it in either direction. However, I do know plenty of real estate people who believe in the stock and are long-termers. (NOT ME!!)
