Hello GZ,

Well thanks GZ -- but, when real Excel users look at it I'm sure they probably snicker. No doubt there's easier more efficient ways to pull it off. Although I've used Excel at work for a number of years, it's fairly basic with simple formulas only. I just tried to make it simple with as many columns as needed. And, I've found you can pull off a great deal with the "IF(THIS HAPPENS) + IF(THAT HAPPENS) ETC, <G>.

Now, it did take much longer to create this baby than I guess I thought it would. As you know, coming up with a system that would determine if it was an up or down day just had me staring at the screen and then experimenting for some time.

I share it 1) because I know someone will come along and make it better (I've just started reading how to automatically get external data. Now that's what we want next. Open it and it does everything) and 2) if everyone who uses it makes a couple of observations about "When this ma does this compared to" etc etc we can gather a great deal of info. I'll go back at least ten years with data and share that too.

In this months TAofS&C is an interview with Samuel Eisenstadt, head boss man at Value Line. I completely agree with his basic belief about testing.

I'm sure a number of folks have sent me an e-mail requesting the ss. The trouble is, my provider is upgrading their server so I can send but not receive until sometime tomorrow. If you request it, you'll get it.

Take care,

Eric
