So have I, but I find them interesting and am trying to understand them better. The risk (capital outlay for the long option) is reduced by the short position. I think I have a pretty good handle on covered call writing but it certainly wasn't the most effective method of dealing with the sell off over the last year, so I am trying to develop my own inventory of investing tools.
