I don't know either how to follow the percentage of short selling. I have posted a number of times that if the SEC really wanted to level the playing field", they should force the exchanges to mark each sale as long or short, or at least give a days summary of the short position, rather than a month summary, and even that delayed by about two three weeks. The same with the specialists and members on the NYSE, their trading volume is disclosed with two weeks delays. If corporations are required to disclose to all at once, why not members of the exchange?
