Apr 27, 2001 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Compaq has commenced work on a new series of PCs and devices that are ready to accept TV or video via the Internet.

The new product line comes in response to the constantly increasing amount of broadband available in homes. Also, in November 2000 a three-year, USD100m strategic alliance was formed between Compaq and Disney that focussed upon technology and marketing. A Compaq spokesman claimed that in the future Disney would be a logical content provider for the new PC range.

A definite release date was not revealed.
