Couldn't agree more Greg. SI is getting more & more like the YAHOO threads. One suggestion though. You might not be able to change what others do on SI, but don't change yourself.

Stick to your guns & call it the way you see it. Me thinks there are numerous lurkers out there (& regular posters) who don't weigh in on the rude & ignorance issues, but they surely appreciate folks like you. We learn a lot & appreciate the time & effort you put in to share your knowledge & experience.

Me thinks that like the markets, this too shall pass & SI will return to a more civil place to learn & share.

Tim - always the optimist Ö¿Ö

Greg,

For every rude person that pollutes SI, there are others lurking and looking to gain fresh insight into stocks, technologies, and companies from people like you and others on this thread alone who are helpful. Please don't give up on SI just yet. Same holds for other threads. While some bears are abrupt/rude/whatever, others are extremely helpful as well.

Lots of noise around; nature of the beast at times.

B, it's too easy to be a "member". To keep the trash out, they will have to charge a fee. This is still not as bad as Yahoo.

I wonder if SI makes you fill out a postcard and send it to them to be a member, like they did in the "old" days?

Maybe what you're seeing in "the new" form of capitulation!

Best,

John
