If the Mother Teresa's of the world don't conduct charity then the big brothers of the world will. The former is better than the latter for all of us no matter how we feel about it. Here again: PLEASE. I feel for her motive; but she was no different than you or me, or Hitler...if we only consider motive... Leaving aside the extremism of MT, most helping professionals of the world are also capable of doing great harm. Most of them are trying to clone themselves. After all, how many people are able to step outside of their own illusions? Certainly, none of us have 360 % vision and infinite awareness (actually, the concept of omniscience is ludicrous). But force. law, and God are valid concepts from certain perspectives. Eternal ego as a defined entity is against the most miniscule concepts of GOd. God has never defined itself. The concept of God as being that which greater than cannot be conceived of was a purely human (and arbitrary philosophical approach to the human need to close the circle). If we bury all the myths and stories of the past, and look inward to our hearts and outward to the skies--we find a more modern method of kissing the Cosmos. It is odd that most people cannot comprehend the idea that substance will exchange forms, and that forms will express with a sense of self. The depth of "self" is perhaps significant--or perhaps it is not. In any case, why do people see a difference between falling asleep and waking up as Joe...or falling asleep and waking up as peanut? The bible is a collection of stories, at best some of them are pleasant. Those pleasant fables might help some that are on a much rockier road than we. Do you propose to take them away, they will need other fables, what do you propose to replace them with? They are being replaced as we speak. Hale-Bop was far more significant than most realize. It was an incredible precursor of a human society in hysterical transition. DO you want a new religion? Meaning? 15 years and counting...
