Anyone contemplating following Dale into the world of PGLAF should take time to read about this Brisbane, Queensland, Australia based medical research company.

Progen Industries Limited is a biotechnology company committed to the discovery, development and commercialization of small molecule pharmaceuticals for the treatment of a variety of diseases for which there is a significant demand for new therapies. Our drug discovery efforts are focused on the development of potent, selective inhibitors of carbohydrate-protein interactions. These molecular interactions are implicated in a range of different diseases.

A new web site was released only earlier today: progen.com.au
There is a thread where I post news as it is announced on ASX :
Subject 26617

Also worth knowing is that Progen is a significant shareholder (~19%) in Zaxis International (BB:ZAXSE).
Zaxis Inc. develops, manufacturers and markets high performance products used to detect and separate various proteins and nucleic acids.
ZAXIS web site : zaxis-inc.com

ZAXIS largest customer is VISIBLE GENETICS (Nasdaq NM:VGIN)
VGIN is very close to FDA approval - expected in May.

Visible Genetics Inc. develops, manufactures and sells integrated DNA sequencing systems that analyze genetic information to improve the treatment of selected diseases.
Yahoo: biz.yahoo.com
VGIN web site: visiblegenetics.com

Bottom line - if VGIN is successful ZAXSE should do well and this in turn would be an added bonus for PGLAF.

Disclosure : I have positions in PGLAF, ZAXSE & VGIN.

PGLAF: It had a nice move last week. I mentioned it on the Biotech Valuation thread:

Message 15727436

At the time I said: "This is a "penny stock" that a few weeks ago announced the Univ.Hospital in Tapei was going to start a Phase Ib on their anti-angoiogenesis product. <g> Institutions reportedly have been buying lately, I haven't as yet.<g>"

Since then, and after looking at the chart, I decided to buy some, so am I glad to read your comment about it.
