There weren't a lot of feminists in the Victorian times and yet prostitution was still illegal. I am certainly for legalized prostitution. To empower women we must bring them out of the seamy underground economy. I don't know any feminists that want to keep prostitution illegal. They feel it is degrading to women that they would want to engage in such a business, but they don't want to criminalize it. Of course I've never known that many women who identified themselves as feminists. Perhaps they've gone on a crusade to keep prostitution illegal while I was out of touch with them. Strange idea, it really doesn't fit with their ideology.

Perhaps that was unfair. I live in a town where stripping is illegal and the reason is the town councilors wives hate it with a passion and they whip their little men around.

Hookers are sometimes victims and sometimes they are just in charge of their sexuality in a way that makes, priests, control freaks and wives uncomfortable.

I don't mean to glorify hookers but there is no reason to victimize them either. Prostitution is legal here what is illegal is soliciting.

I over heard three hookers talking about their clients the other night. One said she met a lawyer and he was really great, gave her a big tip and it was a good time, the other met a doctor spent the whole night with him, he paid double and still left a big tip, and the other said my night wasn't so good, I met a farmer, first he said it was too dry, then it was too wet, and then he said the government would pay for it.
