Opto-electronics is a fast-growing market that requires robust factory management software to manage the complex shop-floor operations involved in manufacturing. The lasers, diodes, and other solid state devices are manufactured in wafer processing facilities and then assembled and tested in manufacturing cleanrooms. The integration of optical components such as lasers and receivers with optical modules and fiber are used in building optical communications networks. The factory management software that PRI has developed for the semiconductor industry is ideally suited to meet the needs of the expanding optic-electronics industry. PRI has already installed PROMIS MES in several other facilities of the same customer at locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
