Here is another history lesson for you Politico:

In May 1945, Europe consisted only of Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal. Across western Europe U.S./British/Commonwealth Forces covered the ground. And in eastern Europe stood the Russians.

Europe has worked itself out from under this heap of rubble and occupation (friendly and not so friendly) in an immense effort which has taken three generations. But Europeans have a long memory of history. After all, the evidence of history is there to see all around them. Europe has not forgotten the huge disaster that befell them between 1939-1945. Nor have they forgotten that the seeds of the second war, their greatest one, were sewn at the Genoa Conference of 1922 where the Continent of Europe was disallowed, by the victors of their first war, from returning to sound money.

Europe has held the debt of the victors as their reserves since 1922 - and it has rankled ever since.

In the 1960s, France, under Charles de Gaulle(not of the Republican Conservative Mindset.<ggg>), started sending U.S. Dollars back to the U.S. as fast as they arrived to be redeemed for U.S. Gold. All the rest of Europe held its breath and silently applauded. Charles de Gaulle was put under immense pressure from the U.S. over these actions, but instead of buckling, he told the U.S. and NATO to vacate the soil of France inside a year. In 1966, the rest of Europe thought that the U.S. must either choose to comply or choose to turn their forces in France into an undisguised OCCUPATION force. When the U.S. ordered its forces to leave France, Europe knew that, given time, and given the retreat or collapse of the U.S.S.R., all of Europe would again become FREE.

PS <The "proccess" came about because LBJ started the "War on Poverty">

What a joke you are!
