Given that "Pent"ium was the "5"th generation that replaced the "4"86, isn't it time for Intel to try a new number out?

Some years ago a marketing company approached a colleague offering food, wine and I think money in exchange for a discussion and questionnaire.

It turned out that it was about electronics industry perceptions of the Intel numbering sequence, especially as it approached the 6xxxx used by Motorola. A few months later Intel announced the Pentium.
