On losing good people: Local utility here had a merger blocked by a judge. Dozens of highly paid (and highly skilled) electricians, linemen, administrative personnel, etc., jumped ship and found jobs elsewhere out of fear of losing them in the consolidation.
Company is having one heck of a time replacing them. Sure, there are applicants, but not with 10 years experience working from a bucket truck and such things.
And customer service everywhere (not just Dell) stinks. "We'll answer your call in the order it was received."
I just hate recordings like that.
Remember when companies would go out of their way to RETAIN key personnel? Why let competitors lure away your best people?
I don't get it. I'll never learn.
