Neo,

It is a fundamental "Bubba" cultural problem.

I thought I read where engineers still make better starting salaries than liberal arts degrees. The problem with the low number of engineering students is that their math backgrounds are so poor, they can't cut it. My friends' duaghters, the valedictorian and third in high school class, got D's in chemistry as freshman at Texas A&M. I read where most incoming students in the Florida University system need remedial training to prepare them for college. Sorry to digress, but when they can't hack it in the hard sciences, they move to the liberal arts, where the academia elite liberals reside. There was an article down here this weekend about reading lists that contained only books written by white males, as if that was hurting the education process. And we wonder why teachers can't teach.knc
