" And yet he has no interest is licensing this technology "

Hook, I think it is pretty clear at this point that nobody is willing to pay much to license ITG. And it isn't patented yet. Once they have it secured and when streaming becomes more widespread ( and thus ITG more valuable), I am sure they will reconsider.

Mr. Bramson makes a strong argument for the survival and eventual prosperity of the sector as a whole ---- here's to the day when they have more micro arguments to make in AXC's behalf (in the form of balance sheet cleansing and actual revenues and eventual profits)than macroarguments.

Yeah it does look like the ADS sale is quite away off now .....but sadly better to hang on to it and try to finance in other ways than to give it away. We simply, despite the many speculations, have no idea what they have actually been offered..the number might surprise us to the downside.I have a hunch it would.

hookjock,

<<In the letter Ed says that they are trying to sell the data unit but he blames markrt conditions for the failure to do so.>>

The internet collapse most certainly is the reason for the failure to sell ADS during the past 12 months! THAT, hookjock, is a nobrainer. And....since Ampex Data Systems continues to make money...and IN FACT make more money now than in the past few years...it is becoming MORE valuable with the passage of time...along w/the reappearance (perhaps) of a bull market. The 65 million figure based on the revenue multiplier went the way of weird birds when the price of Ampex's common went below a dollar. Credibility was lost....and we all know the ltd is the problem...along w/the redeemables and of course there was Dennis along the way...

As to ITG....well, none of us really know where we are with regard to patent protection there at this time. I would think that is a biggee...especially considering the claims that ITG 2 can cut costs 50%....and ITG 3 is within 6 months....Just think. If Ampex can cut streaming costs in excess of 50% for traditional advertisers wishing to place their stuff on the internet....wouldn't Ampex be the place to come to?

I know the rhetoric has been forthcoming w/o the goods for a long time now....but all the millions have been spent hopefully in a learning curve that will approximate the soon to be seen parabola upcurve in Ampex Class A of Delaware.

Cyclometer is pure emerald now...and I'm in touch w/Arnold on a daily basis.
