I thought dumping was a violation of international trade rules - not domestic.

Pete - Re:"Add a dumping lawsuit by the FTC."

You are a raving lunatic !!

First, dumping actions relate to goods that are manufactured abroad and imported into the US. Intel manufactures virtually all its processors in the US.

Second, dumping actions are filed in the International Trade Commission (ITC), not in the FTC.

Hi Pete,

RE: price collusion

Your accusations of dumping, fly in the face of Sander's potential price-fixing attempts.

It would be illegal for Sanders to phone an Intel exec and ask Intel to not lower prices. I believe that is called price-fixing.

However, it could be perfectly legal for Sander's to signal a price-fix to Intel, through a public analyst conference call, by emphatically stating that he will not enter a price war with Intel. Who would even suspect a name-calling executive as a price-fixer? (if that's what he was up to)

Fortunately, for the consumer, Intel ignored (what may have been) Sander's smoke signal.

Btw, regarding some of the accounting differences you mentioned. I agree with you that it would be better for shareholders of any company, if companies were more consistent in their method of accounting reports so that cross-company comparisons can be made more easily. It's difficult when they are not.

Regards,
Amy J

Peter Principle - Re: "Add a dumping lawsuit by the FTC. "

What dumping law suit?

Intel's ASPs are still 2X those of AMD.

In fact, I'm going to ask the FTC to start a dumping suit against AMD and liar Sanders.
