Isn't this why Intel started mass producing their own chipset?
If if AMD or Intel gives these Taiwan companies a reference design it seems they cut corners to save money. Then they release beta.
Still, my Athlon with the VIA KT133a chipset is the most stable platform I've ever owned. At least since the 386-20.
