The planet-??? was a "community" type of thing, and you registered for it. And people with similar interests could correspond with each other.

That is waht planatall.com did. You could communicate with friends and even store an address book there. I guess one could do that at about 50 sites for free still today. It was $300 million not $200 million. I will take the extra $100 million if no one cares for it-;)
