I was asked if that's what i wanted to do, and said Yes.

You did good. The copying files message is standard with many installs. It's a safety feature that keeps you from replacing a more recent version of a file with an older out of date one. Hopefully, the newer version is "new and improved."

Although I've never used that program, it's supposed to work before loading most programs so I can't imagine what could be writing to your disk. You must have gremlins. <gg>

ps: My former dsl provider told me I had gremlins in the attic! Maybe they've moved to your house.
