D: I like Austin as well as you, and I am not a 'pessimist,'

... thank you very much.

I've worked in high tech since 1982 and have seen and experienced the 'non-bubble' days as an employee building a career -- an experience that I believe you don't have, correct? The layoffs, the downsizing, the consolidation ... my most recent employer (of programmable controls) before I went on my own was acquired three times in two years. Three presidents in two years. It was pretty humorous, if you could get past the fact that virtually every employee lived in fear 24/7 of losing our jobs.

Facing hard reality is not pessimistic, IMO.

If you want to while away your net worth betting blindly on pipe dreams, it's certainly your business.

I think that 'optimism,' as you call it, cost millions of ordinary people much of their life savings in the past 13-15 months. MFs, the 401Ks, the accounts managed for them by brokers and financial planners, etc.

Enough.

Have a good day, now ...
