There is a nurse shortage. Maybe if nursing paid better, more people would go into it, so maybe you could blame it on health care providers being unwilling to pay

Why would anyone expect socialized medicine to work any better than the air traffic control system?

Nurses are primarily important to patients, who in turn represent pure costs to the system and should have no complaint if they happen to survive the exercise of their right to free medical care. In any case, they will be guaranteed the right to sue by the government, so the quality of care is of no significance.

Worldwide, medical care is strictly rationed unless you are a politician, or rich enough to buy or lease one. From the potential patient's point of view, about the best that can hoped for is an appointment schedule that falls within his expected lifespan.
