The article mentions three dates:

May 1999: (Nov. 1998+6 months): This must be the .25 um copper process implementation of the K6...
Dec. 1999: The .18 um copper Athlon...
May. 2000: The Palomino process ?

Wasn't June or July 2000 the month of the 1.5 GHz rumors originating from the German "Wallstreetonline" site?
I remember that May 2000 was mentioned as a starting date in one of the posts back then.
November 15, 2000 was slated for the introduction of the Mustang core based Athlons using a new transistor type.
I guess a lower yield compared to the original copper Athlon's process has delayed volume production until now.
