RCOM - Diamond among DotComs
Register.com, Inc. is a provider of Internet domain name registration services worldwide and offers a suite of value-added products and service targeted to assist customers in developing and maintaining their online indentities.
Current price $7.30
Market Cap 270 million
Cash 3.41/share
Absolutely ZERO debt
5% short interest
Daily Volume 70K

Insiders own 81% of company
Intitutions own 92% of float
These are 2 very strong numbers as nobody is selling.

With ZERO debt, a very nice cash position, tons of recurring revenues with very little recurring costs, and slightly profitable, I feel this company is a great candidate for a buyout in the next year around $12-15/share.

On thursday, VRSN (RCOMs biggest competitor blew away the number in their earnings release. +21 cents vs +11 expected and no downward guidance of any kind.)

RCOM reports earnings on tuesday may 1 after the close.
I see another giant surprise here. (company has a history of big surprises)
Year 2000
Q1 estimate was -14 cents actual -4 cents
Q2 estimate was -8 cents actual -3 cents
Q3 estimate was -8 cents actual break even
Q4 estimate was -2 cents actual +5 cents

RCOM has been improving every quarter in a tough economic condition.

Estimate current quarter is -6 cents
year 2001 estimate is +5 cents

Only 2 analysts follow the stock.

Here is RCOM trading history:

stock been very steady at around 6 between earning releases.
after earnings stock pops 50% every time to around 9, only to sell off back to 6 the following 3-4 days.

Major support at 6
Next very major support at 5.25
Major resistance 9.25

I have a 1 3/4 long position in RCOM.
full position from 6 3/8
and a trading 3/4 position from 5.5

Assuming RCOM hold pattern true to form, I will be selling all my shares in AH on tuesday after earnings or wed in the 9s.
I might even try shorting a few shares at that time.

In about 2-3 weeks I will reestablish my long position somewhere around low 6s.

Many Happy Returns
