Well I would reduce the $4007 by $1684 for a net cost of about $45. But we are talking about the dilution of outstanding stock, which Intel has consistently maintained, at about 6.5 billion shares for many years.
“AMD has been reporting fully diluted EPS assuming the notes will convert for over a year”. Of course, but what is the effect to a long term stockholder. Just looking at AMD’s Income Statement for Q1 01 it shows that the total outstanding shares including dilution on April 2, 2000 was 344381 million and 351785 million on April 2, 2001 or about a 2% increase in one year alone.
