I am holding still also. I would hate to be sitting on the sidelines when OEM's come out of hiding (ok, abiding by the NDA's) to announce mobile Athlon notebooks, or when Palomino's are released. While I am pleased with the recent recapturing of old ground to $32 (almost,) there is so much upside to AMD's fortunes. Unfortunately I had the same mindset the second half of last year as we fell from $48.50, I just have to figure out where to step off on a pullback.

For Mani's benefit, my plan is to sell the majority of my holdings exactly 15 minutes before Intel, Dell or "fill in the blank" issues further warnings for 2Q earnings. That is the tough one.

If the notebook/Pally announcements carry AMD significantly higher before any substantial warnings occur, I may cut back a little. I think first week in June is soonest any warnings will come.

BTW, my little investment (5/32) in TDFX is looking better as NVDA shares hit $91 today. I have added to my holdings recently at $.29, as NVDA has gained ground. I'm still holding out hope for Covad (now COVDE) once their late 2000 financials are reported in the next week or two. Now you can see how I can tell people "I am diversified".<ggg>

"I am holding my AMD shares with firm hands, too. And I am planning to do so for quite a long time. In my opinion, AMD's best time ever will start with the Hammer release. I believe that X86-64 will be met with enthusiasm, contrary to IA-64. Intel will have no weapon against it.

So for me, AMD is a long term investment."

Can't think of a better stock to hold than AMD...I suspect its ascent which seems to already be underway will be even more vigorous with the release of palomino...I don't think you'll have to wait for Hammer's release to participate in a major price upswing...Athy was just a teaser...Palomino is the appetizer...Hammer the main course...Dessert occurs when OEM's are clamouring for any and all AMD product they can get their hands on, Dell included!!! And with your capital gains, you can buy a nice cognac and enjoy the show...There just isn't a better business story being scripted anywhere than that which is unfolding with AMD's remarkable evolution!!!
