This market was heading for a lower low before the tax cut compromise was released. From what I can gather, some of the details of the $100-billion stimulus still have to be worked out as part of the 2002 budget, so even though we have the $100-billion number, I'm not sure we'll know what it entails until the 2002 budget is finished.

Just what I've been able to gather from what information is out there right now.

If this is indeed a stimulus package, it probably kills the possibility of any additional rate cuts by the Fed. That would give the market a wakeup call, especially if the Fed holds without cutting in the May meeting.
