Yes.. That is a shame. He will have an uphill battle later in life... I was a 'fat kid' And now I have to work my ass off literally to stay fit. I ride 114 miles a week, eat a sensible - moderate diet - have a resting HR of ~50 and a fat percentage of 14. But this is the best I can do... I am not destined to be come a triathlete ;)

Soccer is a safe haven for children of all skill levels. Obese children should be encouraged to play more of it, not less.
