Unemployment in France was about 2% in the early 60s. The govt take
of GDP was about 32% (still high by US standards). I believe it is higher
than 50% today. France is in bad need of shock therapy-- slashing
taxes, cutting public servants rolls, raising retirement age, slashing
unemployment benefits (90% of salary for a year). You think it will
ever happen? These guys would rather be a 3rd World Country
(quickly becoming one) rather being rich and capitalist.
