VELO, heard they found your distant cousin, proof of a flying feathered dino burried under some peat bog. Send me a PM, thanks...

Hey Sharck - just one caution on that system Wes spec'd out for you (and I am not challenging his config - it looks good) - but if you or anyone goes with RDRAM - be sure to order enough (no, make that more than you need) right now. The only reason I say that is the availability for RDRAM in the aftermarket is weak - and hence pricing is high.

I have no problem with the RDRAM - works well - but I bought my machine with 128MB last July - and after a couple of months thought about upgrading it - hard to find and major sticker shock as compared to other DRAM. Situation may have changed lately - but last I checked a few months ago - it was about the same problem. Its not like the other DRAM you can pick up cheap later. So, don't skimp up front - much cheaper to buy as part of the new PC - and 256MB should be sweet.

All my experiences with Dell have been at work with optiplex models. We have had very few problems. I would recommend an optiplex but they do not come with pentium 4's yet.

I run 98 at home also. I am looking at getting the new matrox card and upgrading to win 2k. The matrox g450's drivers should take care of the one big window problem. I will never run Me.
