The stuff in Start / Programs / Startup...

On my system, this folder has shortcuts. The chief difference between shortcuts in this folder and those in other folders is that these shortcuts get executed when the system starts.

You have some choices: You can move the shortcuts to another folder or you can create new shortcuts in another folder and delete those in Startup.

Moving them sounds the easiest.

Cheers, PW.

Registry edits ...

Recent posts on this thread contain links to sites recommending users remove certain keys from the registry so programs don't start.

I'd suggest to proceed with great caution in this endeavour. There's nothing 'bad' about continuing to use StartUp Manager to skip those programs. In fact, it makes it easy to change your mind.

If you decide to remove the keys, Export them first. That way, if you do change your mind, you can restore your registry entries with a mouseclick.

Cheers, PW
