mfgrep:

"Why rush to the net to crush an overhead slam at your opponent if your opponent is on the clay looking for his contact lens???!!!"

Love the analogy...Probably not too far off the mark, imo!!!

We're not unhappy that they're not rushing. We're unhappy that they're lying about their future products. Constantly. Perhaps you don't remember about the 1.50GHz in January prediction by Jerry, or the five new product introductions promised by Hector? Or the fact that the Palomino core was initially sworn to be released during last year?

We've no problems if AMD is simply taking their time to ensure reliability. But when a company makes a promise and breaks it like this, it's a bit different than the same company simply avoiding empty promises and not saying anything until they have a solid timetable.

The Pentium 4 is not a disaster. It is simply in a more competitive atmosphere than Intel has ever seen before, so it is not doing as well as previous core introductions.

At the risk of too obviously begging the analogy, inteL is yet to realize the need for contact lenses. iT is sinking in the midst of a large river in Egypt (de Nile.)
