Actually, 100+% is easily done if one trades on margin and gets caught.

William, certainly it is mathematically possible. What astounds me is that anybody would put 100% of their money in high priced stocks at their highs. It is the approach and the "timing luck" in combination that astound me. In the same way that Evil Knieval's jumps astounded me.
