You know, I rarely read the posts on Yahoo because there has been so much hate and discontent over there, and foul language. But, I read them earlier today, and have followed up just now. Here's an interesting post from the "dark side".

messages.yahoo.com

"First of all, name ONE customer where the 5.0 or 6.0 product is actually in use by a sales force. Just one mind you."

Interesting. The poster appears to have knowledge that the wonderful stuff that we've been hearing about isn't in use. Anywhere. By anybody.

Then, the following comment is even more interesting.

"You keep forgetting the source of the rumor that this is a good product"

Well, now. Let's see. We've heard from whoever it was who gave FSTW an award. Those are always questionable, IMO, and can be swayed by business relationships. And, we've heard about the wonderful upgrades from all the PRs that have been produced by the company. That's typical. You think they'd put out a PR that says how badly they've done their job? I personally heard directly from one of the salesmen (no comment necessary on that one), and I know of others who have spoken with RTB (again, no comment necessary). Everybody gives rave reviews of the product.

And, we've heard from the developers themselves. They're the most likely to know what the product is really capable of. The developers seem to think that it was "close, but no cigar" as a result of [mis]management.

So, what's the deal with this poster? He/she insinuated that the product is nowhere near what it's cracked up to be.

It would help to provide some details for that assertion.

"Guess you si'ers just don't understand that it has nothing to do with the product"

OK. So, enlighten us. What *does* it have to do with? The competition? The stock market doldrums? The phase of the moon?

I suspect that being a successful software company has at least *something* to do with the product.

Regards,
