Grace, fact is, photographic silver consumption is growing inexorably year after year, digital cameras or no digital cameras. so far a negative effect is not discernible. reminds one a bit of how paper was supposed to become superfluous with the advent of the PC...never happened either. i know, the EK CEO was badgered about 'when will film photography bite the dust', and he correctly answered it will take a looong time. to wit: last year silver based film set a new global sales record.
