i'm using both, but mostly i make my photographs the old fashioned way as well. but then i'm a big fan of black and white photography, not everybody's cup of tea.

the smart media cards that are now the standard for digital photography storage i'm using to store the voice/midi data from my synthesizers.

ben, i bought an olympus c-3000 for just over $400 (refubed on ubid.com). add another $125 for 2 sets of batteries, charger, 64 mb smart media and ac adapter.

i love it. the cost of digital photography is extremely low. i was never an avid photographer before, but now i find myself taking my camera along with me a lot...

sure, 3 megapixels will only look good up to 8x12 or so, however, shoot analog when you plan to go above 8x12!

i say... two thumbs up!

I keep my floppies in a plastic box. They work fine. Send me your email address and I'll send you one of my digital images. (Sony Mavica FD95) The weak link for digital photos isn't the camera or the floppies, it's the printer. 600 x 600 dpi isn't good enough.

Mark me in the group of professional photographers that have never purchased a digital camera.

For other than news, image Quality is still not there except for the very very top of the line $4000 Nikons etc. Even then it is a stretch IMHO.

We will get there but most magazines I sumit to want FILM not scans.

However, for average JOE and that is 90% of the market, digital cameras are a wonder and that is where we are headed.
