hi ed pcpitstop has a great pitcrew system details report that shows all running programs. i'll have to compare it with win2000's task manager as i see there are a couple listed twice and some seem to have sneaked in without my knowledge (though i take precautions to guard against that sort of thing). i haven't tried any of their autofixes as of yet, but i have made good note of what they recommend i do to tighten up various components. i have no idea how much of this stuff is new, but it seems very good. :) mark
