I couldn't prove it but suspect the Japanese aren't all that honest. I have done some JV and other work involving their bureaucrats and companies and was surprised at the counterproductivity. Going to a Geisha house every night or eating at a restaurant owned by the bosses mistress at company expense seemed over the top and I wonder how prevalent it might be.

James, my theory in the case of the Japanese is that they have I believe a law that says that all documents must be in Kangi. This is multi thousand symbolic language. This is a very high inefficiency in transacting business.

Any time one creates a complex system just to be politically correct, one pays a price. In the world of high speed information exchange, Kangi is molasses.
