heinz, >>do i understand correctly, you want to buy bonds, but hedge your risk in them?

Yes. At some point in time during the next couple of years I suspect that 30 year bonds may be worth buying if inflation kicks in and I would want to hedge my positions when I start accumulating because I am always "early". <g>

I am going to let TIPS trade through a business cycle before I use them. I do not trust the government to give us true inflation numbers and am betting the TIPS will not get the job done.
