I save plenty of energy being a vegetarian. I don't own an SUV. I turn my heat off at night and I dont believe that the little energy we have should be squandered on providing subsidized energy to the poor for bodily comforts.
Its pristine to be cold and hot. Did you ever consider that 90 % of the world has no air-conditioning so why should our poor have it ? Fifty years ago even the wealthy in this country did not have it so it is obviously not a necessity of life.
Either you develop energy to keep it cheap or if you believe that we shouldn't pollute than you conserve. The only way to conserve is to raise the price and that forces people to conserve.
