Then I'll write calls against them again, until the economy is looking stronger and it's time for LTB&H again...

Should I infer that when the economy is improved you won't want to be writing covered calls?

Yes. Or my strategy will change. When the economy is looking stronger, my goal is to be primarily LTB&H, with the exception of writing covered calls against positions that seem to have run up too high too fast. For example, when NTAP hit 150 back in October, that would have been a perfect time to start writing in the money calls as a way to somewhat hedge downside and sell off part of the position.
