Bush just cut funding for research into alternative energy and fuel sources. In fact I think he totally cut the funds.

I have to laugh at how he is asking federal employees in Ca to keep their thermostats at 78 and to stop using escalators!!!! LOL Maybe he got the word " escalator" confused with the word "elevator". That would make more sense.

The only escalators I know of are in the shopping Malls and airports.

Scum: Spending money on fusion research would be a good idea if it was showing results. It is not "viable" now and may not be for 50 years. But you are correct that a sustained controlled fusion reaction would be, ecologically speaking, nothing less than the Second Coming.
